Anubi's U-Palettes Pack
A downloadable project
28/08/24: v2 IS HERE! Read the patch notes linked here for an overview.
1/05/22: Emergency Fix for GPL Files. it's advised to re-download your palettes if you plan to use their GPL versions.
30/04/22: CrocoPal has been added and is now available for download.
Anubi's U-Palettes Pack (or AUPP, in short) is a collection of palettes I've made over the months but haven't really published on sites like Lospec yet, even though they're already finished. So instead of letting these be abandoned, I decided to share them here for you to download and use them a bit earlier than usual.
Currently it contains 18 palettes (5 palettes from v1, 13 more from v2), with more on the way.
The palettes are distributed in both .gpl and .png files (.png only for v2). Simply download the palette you want from the download list below, and you should be able to use it with software such as GIMP or Aseprite (after importing these in there).
Read the F.A.Q. and small license below for a general overview about some questions and what you can and can't do with these palettes. You can also check out the details about the palettes below this text.
Palettes Overview:
V2 Palettes
there's so many in there, so I recommend heavily reading the Patch Notes for the highlights of it.
Town20 (#town20)
The oldest palette of this pack, which is a remake of my first palette ever (City28), using the same kind of shades in a more compact size, with better color values. This will be the palette used in MinItems (an asset pack) from (the upcoming) 2.0 onwards.
Candytizing11 (#candytizing11)
A saturated palette that may remind you of some candy from years ago, supposed to be a successor to TriRampo (another palette of mine).
CrocoPal (#crocopal)
A palette originally made for CrocoJam #2, this palette contains a red and green ramp distributed in 8 different, slightly desaturated color values, the darkest and brighest colors can be re-used between ramps.
OutD-7 (#outd7)
A grimy and dark-ish green palette, very different from the kind of palettes I'm used to doing.
A-MarineGB (#amarinegb)
My try at a palette based on the og gameboy colors. The full name is "Aqua Marine GB".
F.A.Q.
Does this pack means that you will stop uploading palettes on Lospec?
Short Answer: No
Long Answer: No, I'll still upload more palettes on Lospec, even some of these when the time comes by, I'm just doing this so you can enjoy some of my unpublished palettes (for the time being) (also, from there is the "U" in "U-Palettes", aka "Unpublished-Palettes"). Even if I end up publishing all the palettes available in here to Lospec, I'll still use this to share my newest palettes ahead of time, so you can always expect more palettes in here.
If these palettes are already finished, can't you just publish them there?
Not really, I follow a rule of always publishing my palettes on Lospec with an example, which usually ends up being from 3 to 4 examples in one, and the examples are almost always required, especially for shorter palettes. These palettes didn't have much examples made, thus I can't really publish them on Lospec without breaking that requirement.
Can I contribute some examples for these palettes?
At the moment I don't want to bother people to do that.
License
You can:
o.- Use and modify these palettes for personal, free and most commercial purposes (read the next point below), with no credit required (though it's appreciated).
You can't:
o.- Use these palettes in NFTs or Blockchain-related projects.
o.- Resell and/or publish these palettes in other websites* (such as Lospec), no matter how much these are modified (or not). Instead, link to this page (or the palette's link in Lospec, if you don't see the palette in here).
*: I'll take care of publishing these in some other websites (such as the already mentioned Lospec) sooner or later.
